I should be writing this between assignments… however, procrastination wins again and the meatloaf needs basting. i will now do the first layer (made the sauce while i looked up my password, and bugged luuk at work… it has been a long time since i wrote).
basting #1 is complete. no drips on stove of strange coffee-tomatosauce-brownsugar-water-butter-soysauce sauce…
ooh, coffee. no. am being strong and courageous today. no coffee! all hail the tea. i am drinking some fancy balled up, whole leaf green tea from china that my mum was given by a friend, who was teaching her chinese. now that we know how to brew it, it’s fabulous!
Luuk and I went to a tea tasting evening with his work social club last friday night. It was hosted at YaYa Teahouse just off Poplar Street, between Tuam and Lichfield. We discovered this great little hidden village of cafes and clubs (including a russian vodka bar) in these great old alleyways. The teahouse was like a hideaway oasis of tranquility. No clocks, but several options as to how you will sit and 50 different types of pure tea. and apparently a fabulous hot chocolate and chai options as well. but no coffee. plenty of places where you can get that.
so this week i’m a tea buff. it’s been cold and beautifully autumnal for a while now. it’s so beautiful i have the door open. but my toes are starting to ache so perhaps i’ll bring the washing in, close the door and do another basting.
basting #2 complete and successful = no spills. yay! doesn’t often happen. possibly should consider returning to homework as i’ve been home for an hour now and have only done one email about a group assignment and… other things 😉
signing off.
